Queenscliffe Who's Who
Public Profile

Today, I lead a team of 13 from our Crows Nest office. I still personally oversee quality on every job, prepare larger quotes and tenders, and make sure the business runs the way I’d want it to if I were the customer. My goal is simple: build a trusted local brand where customers know they’ll be looked after, and where my team genuinely enjoys coming to work.
Since launching in 2018, AB Electrical has grown into one of Sydney’s highest-reviewed electrical companies, backed by more than 600 five-star reviews. This reflects a consistent commitment to customer satisfaction, clear communication, and doing the job right the first time.

Distinguished and Famous people from Queenscliffe
🧭 William Buckley
William Buckley escaped from the short-lived British settlement at Sullivan Bay in 1803 and lived for decades with Wadawurrung people around the Bellarine Peninsula. The cave at Point Lonsdale is traditionally associated with him, although a precise personal itinerary cannot be reconstructed from every later story. His survival depended on the people who accepted and taught him, not solitary mastery of an empty wilderness. The coastal association belongs within that wider life on Country. Remembering the Wadawurrung role gives the familiar escaped-convict narrative the human relationships that made those years possible.
🩺 John Birrell
John Birrell moved to Point Lonsdale after medical practice at Foster and worked at the community health centre in nearby Queenscliff. Earlier, as Victoria’s police surgeon, he had seen the consequences of road crashes and campaigned for seatbelts and measures against drink-driving. Research, public education and persistent engagement with politicians helped turn clinical experience into prevention. The later local practice followed a career whose influence reached far beyond one consulting room. His story connects the coastal community with a doctor who wanted fewer people to need the services he had spent years providing.
🎖️ Sir Mervyn Brogan
Sir Mervyn Brogan commanded the Australian Staff College at Queenscliff after completing the 1959 course at London’s Imperial Defence College. He remained in the Queenscliff appointment until July 1962, before taking command of Northern Command in Brisbane. An engineer as well as an army officer, he later became chief of the General Staff and oversaw major organisational changes and the final withdrawal of Australian combat troops from Vietnam. Queenscliff’s connection is a substantial military-education appointment, one stage in a career that combined technical training, administration and the preparation of officers for larger responsibilities.
